Ermenegildo Zegna / Trunk Show Recap
Thank you to everyone who made it out to the Zegna trunk show last Thursday! In case you missed it, here are a few pics from the evening:

Trevor Shimpkfy posing in front of S/S '13 neckwear from Zegna - Trevor handles all sartorial accounts for Zegna in the United States, and plays an active role in the design process for various furnishings. When I asked Trevor about his creative process, he explained how he finds inspiration and aesthetic value in things of daily life. When pressed further, he casually mentioned how he was walking around Paris the other week and came across some beautiful patterns and motifs on various items in an antique shop. He snapped the photos below of things that he was drawn toward and paired them with certain fabrics to illustrate how such motifs and color stories influence his design process:
A fabric such as this was probably inspired by a design similar to that seen on this Russian doll.
Trevor plans to incorporate a paisley motif similar to the one shown above into a fabric for a tie that will be part of the Spring/Summer 2014 collection.
